A strategic move to strengthen its position as a community, wholesale and lifestyle hub in Klang.

Klang, 4 Nov 2025 – GM Klang has marked a new milestone by officially extending its operating hours to 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM daily, signalling an important phase in the transformation of Malaysia’s largest wholesale centre into a more dynamic community and lifestyle hub, day and night.
The launch ceremony held on November 1 was officiated by Datuk Haji Abd. Hamid Bin Hussain, Mayor of the Royal Klang City Council (MBDK), and witnessed by Chua Yee Ling, Chief Executive Officer of Tourism Selangor, as well as Datuk Lim Seng Kok, Managing Director of GM Klang. This meaningful occasion serves as a gesture of appreciation to the millions of customers who have been the heartbeat and foundation of GM Klang’s success since its establishment in 2009.
Marking another historic moment in GM Klang’s transformation journey, the event featured a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between GM Klang and six new strategic partners in the sports, recreation, and lifestyle segments. The MoU signing was witnessed by the same dignitaries from the launch ceremony. The MoU signing was witnessed by the same dignitaries from the launch ceremony.
Signing on behalf of GM Klang was Foo Loke Ping, Chief Operating Officer of GM Klang Wholesale City. The MoU involves D2 Arena (Futsal), Kfitness Gym (Gymnasium), JAQS Padel & Pickle PLT (Pickleball and Paddleball), Doremart (Supermarket), 33 Food Court (Food Court) and Positif@Klang (Food Truck), all of whom will play key roles in strengthening GM Klang’s business ecosystem and expanding its lifestyle offerings.

According to Foo, the MoU is a strategic step towards positioning GM Klang not only as a leading wholesale destination but also as a modern lifestyle hub that attracts a wide spectrum of visitors from wholesalers and retailers to families and local communities. “This strategic collaboration does more than unlock new business opportunities; it reinforces the B2B2C (Business-to-Business-to-Consumer) concept at GM Klang, where wholesalers, retailers and consumers interact in a complete, progressive and engaging environment that can spur local economic growth,” he said.
To commemorate the first day of its new operating hours, GM Klang, in collaboration with the National Department for Culture and Arts Selangor, Tourism Selangor and the MBDK organised “Ceritera Selangor”, a curated cultural showcase highlighting the beauty and diversity of Selangor’s heritage.

More than entertainment, this initiative supports the Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign, in line with GM Klang’s role as one of Klang City’s Official Tourism Ambassador. The two-hour showcase featured a vibrant fusion of traditional dances, Mah Meri cultural performance, Cempuling music and other cultural elements reflecting the state’s unique identity.
According to Datuk Lim Seng Kok, Managing Director of GM Klang, the extension of operating hours reflects a pivotal evolution in enhancing the overall value offered to visitors.
“We’re not merely extending our hours, but we’re enriching the entire customer experience. This move is a direct response to the needs of both shoppers and wholesalers who are seeking greater time flexibility and a more seamless, comprehensive shopping environment. With the rapid development surrounding Bandar Botanic, Klang including the upcoming LRT3 line, now is the ideal time to propel GM Klang into its next phase as a premier wholesale and lifestyle tourism destination,” he stated.
He further shared that GM Klang’s recent Gold Award recognition under the Malaysia Tourism Quality Assurance (MyTQA) fuels its commitment to continuously enhance service standards and customer satisfaction. “With our strategic location and strong continuous community support, we are confident that GM Klang will continue to grow as Malaysia’s leading hub for wholesale, tourism and lifestyle, both locally and regionally”, he concluded.
