Reader’s Digest’s 24th Annual Trusted Brands Awards Celebrates The Brands And Personalities Malaysians Trust The Most

Malaysia, 2 June 2022- The 2022 Trusted Brands survey results are in – and the time to celebrate has arrived. On June 14, 2022, the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands and People Awards will be presented at the Grand Hyatt in Kuala Lumpur.

The independently-conducted Trusted Brands survey appears exclusively in the June 2022 issue of the Malaysian Reader’s Digest. It was conducted by leading market research company Catalyst Research, who surveyed 8000 individuals across the five key regions of Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan to determine which brands consumers trust most.

Reader’s Digest is among the few brands in the world to have the opportunity to celebrate its 100th year anniversary. As a global brand with 23 editions in 41 countries, Reader’s Digest has published more than 40,000 articles that inform and entertain, and sold more than 10 billion magazine copies. We are proud to celebrate a century of laughter, changing lives, and journalistic excellence.

Trust has been the guiding human emotion we’ve all had to rely on to navigate through the pandemic safely. For the survey winners that has meant getting proactive and reaching out to customers and audiences like never before.

THE PERSONALITIES MALAYSIANS TRUST THE MOST

Just like previous years, one of the highlights of the 2022 Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands awards is the list of most trusted personalities in the following categories: Most Trusted Radio Presenter; Most Trusted TV Host/Presenter For News & Current Affairs; Most Trusted Variety/ Entertainment Presenter; and Most Trusted Sportsperson.

The personalities that Malaysians put their trust in most were:

DJ LIN

Most Trusted Radio Presenter

Since 1999, Roslinda Abdul Majid – aka DJ Lin – has entertained Malaysians by sharing her music expertise and social advice with positive authority. As the voice of Suria FM, DJ Lin was clear about her dedication to the station and her audiences during the pandemic, travelling into the studio each day to broadcast because working from home simply didn’t work. Her shows are a two-way experience, with listeners commenting by phoning in or messaging via WhatsApp, social media or email. DJ Lin has set the standard in radio entertainment by providing great musical insights along with fun and entertaining chats. This dedication makes her an easy winner of the 2022 Most Trusted Radio Presenter.

AMYRA ROSLI

Most Trusted TV Host/Presenter For News & Current Affairs

Since taking on the hosting duties of Nona, TV3’s women’s weekly programme on August 8 last year, Amyra Rosli has had a dream start. For the actress and mother of two, the new role is a “dream come true”. She is conscious of the legacy created by previous hosts, including Puan Sri Normala Samsudin, Mira Filzah, Uyaina Arshad and Datin Fouziah Gous. With over 13 years in front of the camera, Amyra has achieved a loyal following among Malaysia’s television viewers. We’re delighted that Amyra has been voted the Most Trusted TV Host/Presenter For News & Current Affairs for 2022.

DATO’ AC MIZAL

Most Trusted Entertainment/Variety Presenter

The pandemic saw two key changes in Malaysia; people watched more television and went online for their shopping needs. For entrepreneur Dato’ AC Mizal, these were ideal conditions to launch a new broadcast network station. Last September, Dato’ AC Mizal seized the opportunity the pandemic gave him and launched Suke TV. As you’d expect from the much-loved entertainer of nearly 30 years, Suke TV features dramas, comedies and sport, as well as home shopping. Congratulations on being voted the Most Trusted Entertainment and Variety Presenter for 2022.

DATUK LEE CHONG WEI

Most Trusted Sportsperson

Since retiring from badminton in 2019 to recover from cancer, Datuk Lee Chong Wei, Malaysia’s most successful shuttler, continues to be the pride of his country. The former world No.1 held the position for 349 weeks, longer than any other player and is the only Malaysian shuttler to hold the No.1 spot for more than a year. Lee competed in four Olympic Games, winning silver in 2008, 2012 and 2016. He now serves the sport he loves in administration and mentoring players. Trust is built on hard work and consistency, and for these reasons, Datuk Lee Chong Wei is a well-deserving recipient of the 2022 Most Trusted Sports Personality.

THE BRANDS MALAYSIANS TRUST THE MOST

The award-winning Trusted Brands that are outlined in the Reader’s Digest 24th annual survey standout among their competitors. During the hardest of times throughout the pandemic, they have continued to build their customers’ trust by consistently responding to their customers’ concerns, by sympathizing with their situations and providing the necessary support.

“Trust in consumer brands is hard to secure – it takes years of careful planning, execution and nurturing,” says Editor-in-Chief, Louise Waterson. “Trust is at the heart of what determines a brand’s success or failure. But as we’ve seen so clearly again this past year – what has been one Malaysia’s most challenging – is that those brands that live up to their promises during times of hardship will continue to enjoy the trust of their customers into the future.”

Brands that have earned the honour to call themselves a Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand have earned the privilege to carry the Trustmark Logo. For consumers, the Trustmark Logo is a trust sign that helps a consumer recognise quality, value and reliability.
